The Clock and Medals
Wedding present to George Rebbeck and Helen Eliza
Moody and the family's heirloom piece
clock was presented to a young George Rebbeck on the occasion of
his wedding to Helen Eliza. The ship's company (HMS Excellent most
likely) must have thought a lot of their young colleague. The original
case was already eaten by woodworm and the present case was made
by the ship's carpenter.
The clock itself was made by John Pepys and either
the seller had no idea of its value or the crew collected a lot
of money to purchase it.
George Rebbeck's Medals

The rims of the two silver medals will be engraved with his name,
rank and ship at the time of issue.
